I have a working Clover Yosemite install on an Intel DH77DF motherboard. I'm using a generic USB bluetooth dongle (Cambridge Silicon Radio / CSR based) that works fine except for the fact that I am required to unplug it and replug it back in to get it to work (there's a squiggly line over the bluetooth menu bar icon prior to doing so). And this is after powering off/on and doing a warm reboot as well. Below are the details of the bluetooth dongle as seen by System Profile. Is there a way to achieve the same thing as unplugging and plugging the dongle back in through software? Or a set of drivers that won't have this problem? (FYI, I didn't add anything special to get it to work with the Clover Yosemite install) Thanks!

I have the same problem with a Trust bluetooth dongle, Mac compatible. I think that's not a hackintosh-related problem (the bluetooth, at least on my hackintosh, actually works after a reboot but my Apple keyboard and mouse don't work correctly) as you can see here.

Interesting. I have another Bluetooth dongle that I can try. I also currently have the one I'm using plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Not sure if switching to a slower USB 2.0 might solve the problems I'm having.

Seems that using the USB 2.0 ports on the back survive a reboot (previously I was using the front USB 3.0 ports). I also did a full re-install using a sysdef that better matched my hack hardware, so I'm not  sure if this also contributed to it working better this time around. However, the bluetooth range is so bad on some of these dongles, that even with it placed just 2 feet from the bluetooth mouse seems to cause connectivity issues (at least the mouse feels laggy at times).

That's strange. My Trust dongle does survive several stops, but hardly a reboot. I think that some dongles are Mac-ready (maybe yours), others are supposed to work only with Windows (as mine).

I spoke too soon. The bluetooth dongle I was using was clearly a piece of a {censored}. Shoddy connectivity that required I place it in the front USB port, since apparently being 2 feet away from the Trackpad wasn't close enough. But even that wasn't really reliable. Doing any multitouch gestures on the Trackpad caused the pointer to freeze without fail. Eventually after clicking, pressing on the Trackpad power button, and/or unplugging the bluetooth dongle did it start up again. But it'd often freeze regardless.

So I gave up and ordered the IOGear GBU521 dongle. Already arrived and works like a charm. No issues with multitouch gestures or the pointer locking up. I can use it in a back USB port and it even allows it to wake up the hack from sleep (previously that was grayed out in the Bluetooth settings).
