iwannadl
I have just bought a Dell 640M with configuration as below: T5600 Core 2 Duo 1G DDR 533 DDRII RAM INTEL 945GM / GMA950 SATA 120G SIGMATEL 9200 I have to disable one core in BIOS, otherwise the 4 countries language screen will appear when boot. what confuses me is that since the new iMac is also using T5600, why I incure this problem with same CPU on Dell. Anyone who knows the reason and solution, please kindly advise. Many thanks. P.S. I install 10.4.7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30264-dell-640m-conroe-t5600-installation-problem/ Share on other sites
iwannadl
I have updated to 10.4.8, everything works fine includingn Parallels. I think I can put aside the missing core, sound and stand-alone windows for the moment. fourwheeldrifter
Hi i have a dell Inspiron 640m too i got MacOS working out of the box with the help of many different peoples tutorials mainly from this forum, i started with a 10.4.7 jas dvd and installed the SSE2 and intel jas patches Broadcom 440x worked out of the box no setup required i then used one of the tutorials to update to 10.4.8 successful runs fairly smoothly have darwin dualbooting OSX and Vista which works perfectly audio is not picked up and neither is wireless, it just happens that the chipsets for the individual components are those elusive ones that fixes haven't been found for i have the intel pro wireless 3945ABG and the simatel HD audio Vendor ID:8384 Device ID:7690 i am wondering has anybody got similar kit that they have managed to get working and what did you have to do, also does anyone know of a method to boot vista at the same time as OSX, i heard it was possible to use parralels with a physical disk rather than an image but it doesn't suppport vista Thanks very much for your time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30264-dell-640m-conroe-t5600-installation-problem/#findComment-335871 Share on other sites

tpl415
I got Leopard on my Dell 640m OSX 10.5.2, but I have a few problems do any of you have any ideas. I used Kalyway 10.5.2, sleep kernel, used intel patch 950, cpu=1. I have gotten everything working: sound, wireless, usb devices, but there are three criticall things that I can not do. I downloaded the update to get to 10.5.3, but everytime I run it loads up and then I lose visual or video, and I can hear that the computer is still on, but no picture. The second problem is that I can not get it to dual boot with windows and I have tried many times. The third problem is that whenever I put the computer to sleep I can't get it to resume, I hear that hard drive and that the computer is on, but I can't get it to resume.
