Jaffa
Hi guys. I'm having a little problem here. I have downloaded "MAC_OSX_Server_10.4.7_Patched_(ISO).torrent" which is apparently by JaS. The downloaded file is "ServerX86.iso.tbz" and I keep on getting this error when trying to uncompress it using OS X's inbuilt utility: (blurred because I posted it on another forum and they would have shot me) Now, using Stuffit I managed to get it uncompressed to a "ServerX86.iso.tar" file, but I get this message from stuffit when trying to uncompress it: (blured because of the same reason) I also get the same message as in the first screenshot when trying to uncompress it with OS X's utility. I have also tried to get it to uncompress in Terminal, but I get this output: Last login: Fri Oct 13 19:33:06 on ttyp1 Welcome to Darwin! MacBook:~ Jeffrey$ cd Desktop MacBook:~/Desktop Jeffrey$ tar xvf Filename.iso.tar Filename.iso tar: Skipping to next header tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors MacBook:~/Desktop Jeffrey$ Any ideas guys, I want to run this on a 1.4GHz P4 as a server to replace my aging 450MHz G3 Server (also running OS X 10.4 Server). If there is anything here that is unclear and needs to be explained more, I apologize, please tell me and I will explain it better. Thanks in advance, Jeff Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30088-1047-server-by-jas-problems-unarchiving/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
Either the compressed archive was corrupt when it was compressed and you are out of luck, or it got corrupted during download and you need to download again. Jaffa
OK. So you are saying I am stuffed on this one. Bugger, because that torrent is now down and I cannot find another one Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30088-1047-server-by-jas-problems-unarchiving/#findComment-208395 Share on other sites
Rammjet
There is a 10.4.7 Server on Demonoid reporting many seeders. There is a thread on the board for asking for invites, or wait until the weekend when invites aren't required. Jaffa
I'm already on Demonoid, and that is where I got this torrent from. It seems that it is corrupt. The torrent file I downloaded is "++Demonoid.com++-MAC_OSX_Server_10.4.7_Patched_(ISO)_1287293.0782.torrent" and I have the link to the torrent on Demonoid, but it says "Torrent not found The torrent you requested was deleted by it's owner or a moderator." I am logged in, so there shouldne be a problem there. Jaffa
I have found a download of 10.4.7 normal, and a friend of mine has the universal server download, so I will install 10.4.7 by jas first and then install the server component afterwards.
