andzor
Hi. I haven´t seen a lot about any external drives in the hardware forum. Well, there is some, but great if anyone happens to know if most external devices actually just works fine or not I´ve got a NEC (internal) that´s not working in my hacked OSX. So I´m considering buying myself a new one, external USB 2.0 or something like that. Unless anyone have any tricks getting my NEC alive, though I´ve spotted some LaCie-drives, I´ve seen it all around so I just thought it might is a brand that´s much used and trusted. But I don´t know if these drives are supported! I stand between LaCie and Plextor series. Trying to avoid the samsung because of earlier bad experiences. Neither do I dear try a NEC once again so.... Any input to be greatfully accepted =) Thank you. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/30016-external-storageoptical-drives/ Share on other sites
munky
funnily enough, i recently took apart a USB2 DVD writer to extract the standard IDE drive inside, to fit it internally. maybe the reverse would work - that is, you could get a cheap IDE to USB2 adatper from ebay and try it with your existing NEC.
