I wasn't really sure where to post this question. So if this is in the wrong section I apologize.

Recently I was working on my G4 casemod. I had my hackintosh fully booted running OS X Mavericks using ##### all hardware working and supported with an intel DG41TY motherboard and a Nvidia card.

I then mounted the board in my casemod and when i closed the G4's door, stupid me didn't see the board's left corner touch a screw in the case and a loud humming noise was heard. I shorted the board on a capacitor.

The system wouldn't boot past POST after that, No beep codes either. No matter how hard I tried, The fans would just spin on the case and CPU cooler. No display.

Thinking I needed a new motherboard, I went out to my local micro center today and bought an MSI board, hooked everything up to the board outside the case to test it before putting it into a case. Same problem with the MSI board though. Fans spin. No post. No beep codes. No display.

What gives? Did I destroy my CPU? or did i just somehow out of dumb luck get another bad motherboard?

By the way...i didn't know tonymac wasn't welcome here. My bad.

Hi! Welcome to the forums. It is quite possible that one of these are dead: 1. Power supply 2. CPU + old mobo

Thanks!

And thank you for responding. I really appreciate it.

Power Supply was my first thought. So I went out and bought a corsair CX600M, no dice. Still won't POST.

Mobo is also brand new out of box. :/

Weird. I think you're CPU is burned out. Does you bios recognize it?
