I need a workaround for the issue of flash player crashing in Safari and Firefox on 10.9.1. When I watch videos other than YouTube's, I'll see pink/neon purple and green artifacts on the preview image and then they crash and sometimes I either have to 'force quit' the app or manually shutdown and reboot the system because of excessive non-responsiveness. I also can't screenshot anything, and wonder if that has anything to do with OpenCL. Here are a couple of images of the crashes occuring:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

--------------- UPDATE---------------

YouTube crashes too. It is intermittent and shows pink/neon purple and green artifacts on the preview image of the video.

Have you tried disabling Flash hardware acceleration?

After posting the initial thread, I went ahead and updated Flash Player to version 13.0.0.168 if that means anything. I went to System Preferences -> Flash Player menu. I don't see the option disabling Flash hardware acceleration anywhere.

Try this:

How odd it may seem, do you have a webcam supported by Mavericks?

Hey poispois, thanks for your help. I figured out what the problem was. I needed to update to 10.9.2 which I documented here [had the hardest time figuring it out] and I updated the graphics drivers with this. Problem solved.
