DavidT
Today I accidentally deleted my "Home" folder I clicked on it and dragged it over by accident and when i let go, it just made that little cloud of dust animation and was gone. same thing that happens when you remove an icon from the dock. How can I get it back? I dont care about the files that were in it, cause well... i had none really, I just installed OS X. I just want to get the folder and all the folders inside back. Any help would be appreciated -David Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/29382-oops-deleted-my-home-folder/ Share on other sites

Rammjet
If it made a "cloud of dust", you didn't delete the folder. You just removed it from where - either the Dock or the sidepane at the left side of the Finder Window. Click on the Finder icon in the Dock (far left) Click on your OSX partition on the left. Double-click on the Users folder Find your "Home" folder with your user name. Drag it back where it belongs - either the Dock or to the sidepane on the left side of the Finder window.
