Amuso
Updated with iPhone 2.2 software... Seems to drop a few more calls now, a problem I never had before. Also a lot of choppy calls, ie. the sound is not so good, while in 3G. But usually perhaps 1 of 20 calls. More stable Safari. Well, the iPhone 2.1 software was released days after the september Apple event just recently. Reading on what was improved in this release I had to try it out. Here is an updated version table to include the latest software: Release 2.0.0a 2.0.0b 2.0.1 2.0.2 2.1.0 2.2.0 Version 5A345 5A347 5B108 5C1 5F136 5G77 Modem FW 01.45.00 01.45.00 01.48.02 02.08.01 02.11.07 02.28.00 Apple has listened to its customers and come through on much much faster backup and syncronization with iTunes. Funny though, it seems Vista users can experience BSOD (blue screen of death) with the new iTunes 8 and their iPhones. Quite amusing, except I am sure there would be a few frustrated Windows users out there now. Its good to be on the working side camp for once without having to wait for a Mac version that works properly. But enough about that. Software installs much faster too. But I havent been able to test out Apples much better battery life with this version yet. I had no problem with battery life before, but wouldnt mind even better battery life of course. Contacts browsing is fluid now. It wasnt bad in the 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 either, but it is even better now. These updates makes me much more confident that I made a good choice to get the iPhone. I am sure there will be many many more updates to fix smaller or bigger issues. At least Apple is working on it, and it seems almost anything can be fixed by a software update. However, I am still a bit worried about the 3G quality and reliability. Though I have just experienced one phone call which was choppy and made me switch the Edge, I havent been able to replicate the problem. It was probably just a software bug that caused that single incident. Time will show. Get 2.1 if you havent yet. It will make your life with the phone so much more fun now that you dont have to wait minutes for a backup to complete.
