Hi,

I really need some help with the installation of 0sx86 on my system. Bought a Asrock 775Dual-915GL as this motherboard should work without hassle... But I'm totally stuck, have been reading the forums and testing different settings for three days now, nothing seems to work.

My specs:

Pentium 4 630 3,0ghz Prescott

Asrock 775Dual-915GL

2X512MB PC2700 333Mhz

Segate/IBM PATA drives (IDE)

Pioneer A06 DVD+-RW

USB Logitech Mouse

PS/2 Keyboard with USB adapter + one without

My first option was to use the Generic_OSx86_Install_DVD_Patcher_Release1 together with the Marklar-Tiger.dmg. After following the guide and doing all the md5-checks (witch turned out fine) I booted with the DVD. After the last line the DVD was reading for awhile then the system shut down?!? (Se the first image) Tried -f, -x same result. What's this DS.Bundle? It's not even on the Dev-DVD, tried to add it once(found the packaed in older tutorials) with the only difference that the error disappeared but with the same result as before.

Second, I did as many had done with my mobo, just patching rosetta with the Maxxuss-AntiTPM-v0.5c. Now it wouldn't even find my drives ( I think that's what the error says). Tried the tip from another forum to erase the hd with killdisk, same result. (see the second image)

Third, I used the tiger-x86-flat.img and mounted it with dd on to one of my drives, no luck. Just freezes at the "Login Window Application Started" (see the last image).

Damn it, installing with this configuration was suppose to be a breeze. I really need some help on this one, what could be wrong. Why won't it boot into osx with the vmware-image, why isn't it finding my drives. Do I need SATA drives, a "real" USB keyboard, different memories. I'm all out of ideas. By the way, when not interfering with darwin when it loads I get a "System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found" error, does this have to do with anything?

Very thankful for any help.

Since you've got the asrock mobo, you only need to patch the oah750 files. Open the original, un-modified marklar iso with transmac and copy the patched files to the same folders. The first screenshot posted appears normal to me, (it usually stops there for at least a few minutes when booting off the dvd). Other than patching the oah750 files with maxxuss .5c i had to disable legacy usb support in the bios and use a ps/2 keyboard to enter the setup and usb mouse to install. Also, is this a new system? if so have you tested it extensively with windows or another OS?

Thanks for the tips. I'll try and making a brand new dvd with the just the maxxuss patch. What settings did you use in bios other than disabling legacy usb support? I usually just load the optimized defaults. Do I need to change any other settings like the IDE: enhanced/compatible, when I use a PATA drive (it's set to "cable select" and connected to master on cable)? I haven't any SATA drives connected at all.

The new parts are the mobo and the cpu, and I have windows running on one of the drives. But it hasn't been tested for very long. I haven’t encountered any problems so far that would indicate that there could be a problem with the mobo or CPU. Seems to be running fine in windows.

Got the MD5 checksum: e78fe52e30a1f8c5b29d4b7932a16c5e for the Marklar-Tiger.iso and file size of 4 293 001 216 byte. I think this is supposed to be correct. I'll try with this image plus maxxuss with transmac v7.1 and see what I'll come up with. Will post the results here shortly :)

Ok, burned a new dvd with maxxuss. No longer have the "waiting for remote debugger" error, but the problem I had with the "generic_patch_release_1" remains here as well.

What happens is that after some spinning from the DVD at the line "/private/var/tmp: optimization changed from SPACE to TIME" the system shuts down after some error messages. I was able to catch the end of them, just before it shuts down (second image).

Any ideas?
