6968608 Posted September 21, 2005 Share Posted September 21, 2005 Hi, I have been unable to find the AppleAC97AudioVIA.kext file. I have tried Darwin 8.0.1 and an original OSX DVD but cant find it. Can someone supply me or direct me to where I can find it. Thanks P. I have the AppleAC97Audio.kext and it has the Via subfolder in the Plugins part of the Kext and my info.plist has the correct vendor entry.... 6968608 Posted September 21, 2005 Author Share Posted September 21, 2005 the error seems to indicate that the VIA kext file needs to be in the Library/Extensions directory where as it is currently part of the AppleAC97Audio.kext Does anyone know if it can be extracted and exist as a kext on its own? i've loaded kextload AppleAC97Audio.kext no errors came up but I dont seem to have sound! But, did you try to modify the Info.plist of the VIA kext to match your DeviceID? But, did you try to modify the Info.plist of the VIA kext to match your DeviceID? yep sure did..... 30591106 or the other way round... doesnt work tho. The MB is a Soltek SL-K8AV2-RL Motherboard manual says the Audio is a VIA VT1616 audio codec. Altho both IDE and SATA work I am having problems with the onboard USB. The only external disk access I have is with a PCI firewire card. Gonna try searching for the VT1616... I vaguely remember another post on another thread where someone said this chip was supported by an ADI driver. Thx for reply.
