Got a problem, Disk Utility cant see any of the drives added to the virtual machine.

Intel i5

4GB Ram

Windows7 64bit

VMWorkstation 8 with unlocker ~(to osx 10.7)

Two (vdmk) drives added are 40GB (one preallocated. VM set to use 10.7 64 bit) neither show in disk utility

I'd been tearing my hair out for days getting something working so in my haste I've actually installed OSX ML to an old SATA drive via USB caddy and well... its slow.

I kinda want to get this moved to an internal drive for speed.

I'm willing to reinstall if needed (thats not so much of a headache anymore)

Any suggestions appreciated.

This may help. Note across the VM bar at the bottom you an see four added HDD's . These are a mix of SCSI and IDE Preallocated/Non Preallocated and nothing is showing up in disk utility.

Googling for the problem just brings back a multitude of guides for installing rather than this problem. I've read a few but they all assume adding the VM drive is the end of the issue.

System takes an hour to boot up :(

Get the feeling no-one knows though.

OK. For anyone in a similar issue with OSX ML I have a suggestion.

VMware-workstation-full-8.0.2-591240 (from VMware website)

Unlocker 1.0.2 (had to run services and manually stop all VMware services before running unlocker in admin cmd)

InstallESD.dmg (to make a USB installer or in my case to write to a partition of the virtual disk in exactly the same way)

Installer is running internally.

So far so good
