Omega01
Okay, I've done some research and now I have to make a decision: Either MSI 915G Neo2 Or MSI 915G Combo-FR Or Asus P5GDC-V Deluxe The Asus board would be my first choice, because of the firewire ports onboard. Has anyone had any issues with these boards? Sound-In, QE/CI, SATA, USB, FW (Asus board) and onboard LAN working? THX, Daniel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2790-mainboard-msi-or-asus/ Share on other sites

I bought it from a guy on ebay that had two more at 49.99 plus shipping. GREAT DEAL! Have FUN! GREAT DEAL! Have FUN! The Combo-FR has no firewire onboard, right? Is it possible to plug a Firewire-PCI-Card on it which is recognised by OSX? medafor
i got the msi 915g combo. i works perfectly. i have owned a TON of devices. none have ever been firewire. even if you do need firewire for some reason a pci addon is close to nothing in cost. I'd like to connect a DV-Camcorder, that's what I need the FW-Port for. PCI-addon cards are supported in OSX86? Is Line-In working with the 915G Combo in OSX? WolfieCA
Okay, mabe I'm blind... I don't find anything about firewire on MSI's website for the 915G Combo-FR:: That's because there is none. I've just installed a LaCie FW PCI card, and it works great in the MSI board. Have Fun!
