shaitan667
Hi all, I have a Dell Precision T7400 with the following specs - 2x Intel Xeon X5472 3GHz Quad Core CPUs Intel 5400 Seaburg Chipset 32GB DDR2 nVidia Quadro FX3700 512MB Dell SAS 6 (LSI SAS1068E) storage controller (2x 300GB SAS, 2x1TB WD Green) 120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD I have successfully installed 10.7.2 (by way of iATKOS L2: and yes, I purchased a legit copy of OS X for this build, I just find iATKOS easier to get up and running) Everything seems to be working pretty well (just had to download an extra kext for the Broadcom 57xx GBE), but I have no audio. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an audio driver? I had selected AppleHDA during the install process, but apparently this is wrong. Thanks in advance. (Going to be using this machine for video editing. Previously was using it as an ESXi host) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277318-dell-precision-t7400-mostly-working-no-audio/ Share on other sites
shaitan667
So, I ended up reinstalling the OS but selecting VoodooHDA this time. Everything is working a treat! The main issue is that I have to boot verbosely otherwise it hangs during boot. Also, app store doesn't allow me to sign in, but I am sure I can find a solution for this in these forums. Can I safely update to 10.7.3? And I have the chance to get an nVidia GTX295 for cheap - will this work in OS X? If not, I can also get a GTX285 for a good price.
