Dell Precision T7400 mostly working, no audio

Hi all, I have a Dell Precision T7400 with the following specs -

 

2x Intel Xeon X5472 3GHz Quad Core CPUs

Intel 5400 Seaburg Chipset

32GB DDR2

nVidia Quadro FX3700 512MB

Dell SAS 6 (LSI SAS1068E) storage controller (2x 300GB SAS, 2x1TB WD Green)

120GB Corsair Force 3 SSD

 

I have successfully installed 10.7.2 (by way of iATKOS L2: and yes, I purchased a legit copy of OS X for this build, I just find iATKOS easier to get up and running)

Everything seems to be working pretty well (just had to download an extra kext for the Broadcom 57xx GBE), but I have no audio. Can anyone point me in the right direction for an audio driver? I had selected AppleHDA during the install process, but apparently this is wrong.

So, I ended up reinstalling the OS but selecting VoodooHDA this time. Everything is working a treat!

 

The main issue is that I have to boot verbosely otherwise it hangs during boot. Also, app store doesn't allow me to sign in, but I am sure I can find a solution for this in these forums.

 

Can I safely update to 10.7.3?

 

And I have the chance to get an nVidia GTX295 for cheap - will this work in OS X? If not, I can also get a GTX285 for a good price.
