Eien
Hi friends, I'm getting a lot of problems since installed Apple Security Update 2012-001 v. 1.1 My system starts fine but when I get the user prompt window for password my res goes weird and I can't see anything. I enter my password and this persists. Mouse pointer seems fine but other elements looks like every pixel is about 1 inch of size and just black and white. When restarting in safe mode everything seems to be ok, but with safe mode restrictions. OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8 i7 920 MB Asus Rampage II Extreme 12 GB Corsair Dominator EVGA GTX295 Backplate (dual PCB) Dual monitor config, unplugged one but the problem persists. Hope you can help me to solve this. Ty! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275605-black-and-white-and-weird-resolution/ Share on other sites
MacFaulty
Do you have an external graphics card? If so, please write down the modelnumber so I can try to help further. Thanks! Eien
Thanks Wcool, My only graphics card is an nvidia EVGA GTX295 that was running fine until the update MoBo doesn´t have integrated graphics. I didn't mention my Snow Leopard is retail version. Thanks! MacFaulty
Maybe, but I don't know. The method described here will work: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=184318&view=findpost&p=1256642 If you don't know how to use the commands, post back. And if you have any other questions, well, of course, post back Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275605-black-and-white-and-weird-resolution/#findComment-1793933 Share on other sites
Eien
Thanks Wcool, My GTX295 was fully working in snow leopard since 1 year. That seems not to be the problem. Anyway, I'm going to reinstall my OS and stay in 10.6.7 (pre-Lion) for full compatibility in sleep/awake. Regards.
