GoodDayMate
I am dual booting a Dell Vostro 1500 with XP and 10.6.7 using ##### in DVD (I haven’t figured out the hard drive boot yet.) I get a black screen each time I boot. I thought I kept getting KP until I discovered the following: Whatever length of time “energy saver” setting is set for in MAC OSX is how long I have to wait to get a screen at boot. It was set for 10 minutes originally and I discovered I had to wait 10 minutes before I could touch any key and mysteriously a screen would appear. I have since reset the “energy saving” setting to 3 minutes and now I get a black screen for 3 minutes until I can touch any key to get my screen. This is very odd and obviously annoying. Your situation may be the same. Try booting and wait for 10 minutes (if you touch the screen too early, it resets the 10 minute wait). For anybody who can get to “energy saving” in MAC OSX , try resetting the time and see if it affects your black screen waiting time. If you find a solution, post it here for the rest of us.
