Hi Folks,

i'm a loyal apple customer. I think i got everything from them in the past but now i'm fed up with the prices and the "old" hardware they use. I got interested in osx86 when i research informations for upgrading my macpro3.1. Apple makes you blind as loyal customer about hardware costs. You can have the best hw available on market for less then half of the price and thats to hard, they corssed a line for me :) Thats why i'm here, so: hello everybody.

Regards,

chris

"Old" hardware? Their latest MacBook Pro is possibly the most advanced notebook you can find on the market.

If you say it of the Mac Pro I can only agree with you, but such a long delay had never happened before.

Expensive hardware yes, but if you look hard and long enough you can find a bargain. I bought my MBP for 1600 Euro instead of 2500.

Also I saved a lot of money on AppleCare and 8GB RAM.

I hear you dude. That's what I love about my dual boot hackintosh desktop. For a fraction of the price of a Mac Pro you can get a nice machine. And don't even talk to me about the iMacs. Those things are an expensive joke with zero upgrade potential.

That is because ATM Mac Pros are "old" and underspecced. But when the Early 2008 model (Two Quad-Core Xeon) came out it was jolly good value for money. They still are, if you can find a good used one.
