tryagain
Okay, here's where I'm at now: regular Dell PC. Here's where I want to be: Choosing at startup whether to boot into 10.4.5 or Windows XP, as XP is already installed. Also, 10.4.5 will HAVE to be installed on an external hard drive. I have a 10.4.5 Install DVD. I've heard about "Grub", and kind of know what it is. Are there any guides for what I want to do? What are the steps I should take to get from here to there? abbub
Urm. As long as your system supports booting from USB (assuming that's what your external HDD is) you should be good to go. Just use chain0 under XP. There's no need to bring grub into the mix. I have XP and OSX working together just fine on my other system, with OS X on an external HDD. tryagain
Okay. Thanks for your help. So, I found chain0, and understand that I need to add it to boot.ini. When I startup my computer, will it let me select which I want to boot into? Also, I guess I'll just run the OSx86 install like normal, but choose the install path as the external HDD? What's a good tool to format a drive in Mac format?
