jd43 Posted September 28, 2011 Share Posted September 28, 2011 i have hazards osx86 snow leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2.iso and id like to install snow leopard on my laptop running windows vista. so to start i partition a drive and mark it as active. but ive been reading some tutorials and videos and i was wondering if.. a)you can install snow leopard (withought having leopard) b)can you even make a osx86 leopard 10.5.6 usb bootable the same way you would a snow leopard one?? b)when you make the usb bootable for snow leopard do use osx86 tools OR the EP45UD3P Snow Leopard install package c)i know what kexts to install but im not sure on what video one i should use, im using a sony vaio vgn-nr120e and my video card is a mobile intel® 965 express chip set family i know i might be asking a lot but if anyone can help id appreciate it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269157-snow-leopard-usb-boot-question/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
xxmaelstrom Posted September 28, 2011 Share Posted September 28, 2011 You can install SL on your laptop without having Leopard on there first. I did it with Vista and installed Windows 7 after. You don't need to do a disk partition first. When you install SL, you'll open up Disk Utility and set up the partitions that way. Make sure you check the format of your Windows drive that it's FAT and not Mac Journaled. Good Luck.
