GaryThePCGuy Posted September 4, 2011 Share Posted September 4, 2011 Hello im new to hackintosh world....i do have a pretty good working knowledge of pc's...i recently decided to install iATKOS s3 on a second hard drive in a windows xp machine. machine specs: Asus p5g41 m le mobo intel e6600 2.8 Asus eah-4350 graphics 2gb ram i disconnected my xp drive and flashed the bios with the slic modded bios as per instructions in a guide on this forum...i went ahead with the install and at first got a kernel panic after it would boot and ask me to reboot....i reinstalled this time i customised the install and only installed needed drivers...this time it booted to the grey booting screen and after that the screen went silver/grey with little stripes. the stripes moved with my mouse so im assuming that was the sign in screen...i rebooted into safemode and succesfully pulled everything up...so in that respect the install def worked. i do have a small list of issues 1.i can only boot to safe mode...other wise my video is nill...the pc efi 10.6 supposedly has support for my gc but i wouldnt know how to install it...this also brings me to the next issue... 2. if i use my disc utility i can see my dvd drive and any usb flashdrives i plug in...i cant however see them in finder....nor can i get any data from either...this is making it impossible to install the kexts needed for network and sound...or to install pc efi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/267183-issues-with-my-first-build/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
GaryThePCGuy Posted September 5, 2011 Author Share Posted September 5, 2011 ok i just started from scratch...this time using factory bios...also integrated pc efi instead of chameleon or iatkos...installed with drivers....now i get kp dont even get a chance for safe mode....this is nuts!
