CYNiCALStudios
Hi there, just thought i'd share some good news (for some). I finally managed to install iAtkos S3 V2 Distro on my AMD PC. With 1 problem. the CPUS=1 busratio=20 boot parameter is needed to boot into GUI. Without it, I get the painful bootloop. My rig: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 at 3.0Ghz GPU: 9800GTX+ 3GB DDR2 RAM 500GB SATA HDD + 1TB for Dual Boot (Win 7) The motherboard is considerable old, but very cheap considering it supports 3 way SLi but no DDR3 DIMM Slots My steps:1. Changed Bios setting to SATA instead of IDE (gets rid of 'still waiting for root device') 2. Booted into iAtkos S3 V2 a. Utilities --> Disk Utility - Formatted 500GB (using disk 0 partition 2) b. Customization as follows - Bootloader: AsereBLN v1.1.9 Options: 32-bit boot and Graphics Enabler Kernel: Qoopz 10.3.0 Drivers: AHCI SATA, Voodoo HDA, NVEnabler and nForce LAN. Boot with verbose = BOOTLOOP boot with -f -x = BOOTLOOP boot with cpus=1 busratio=20 = SUCCESS!! So, after all that, I want to be able to boot without these parameters. If anybody could assist me, I'd be greatful. Also I do own a Snow Leopard Retail disk but after install, it won't reboot itself. it says ' you can now restart your Computer' and when I do, I get a BIOS Lockup and I have to reset CMOS with Jumpers.. Not what I want to do everytime. I followed the retail guide for AMD on here. I would love for the help and also, is there an IRC I can use? Thanks a lot in advance. CYNiCALStudios
Anyone at all? I just need a fix for cpus=1 busratio=20 I can put it into the boot.plist but if I'm wrong I will only be using 1 of 4 cores? Which just defeats the object. Because it's slow. Thanks.
