Xymus
I have a new hackintosh, worked perfectly. iTunes was working fine from stock, updated iTunes to latest update(10.4?) and now crashes after about 5 seconds from launch. It was working perfectly before the update. I have gone threw guides to completely uninstall it and reinstalled but without success. I can add the crash report that it trys to send to apple if needed. abdreis
I'm having the exact same problem. Funny thing is: it only began when I switched the smbios.plist from MacPro3,1 to MacbookPro8,1 (enabling CPU turbo along the way). If you have the time, try switching your system definition to MacPro3,1 to see if iTunes still crashes. It could help us get to the bottom of this. I did a complete uninstall again and nothing worked but then changed to 3,1(BTW what does this meen anyways?) and it works flawlessly... Thank you! abdreis
Different SMBIOS profiles cause the operating system to load different kexts, among other things. My guess is that MacbookPro8,1 loads a kext that causes the iTunes crashes on both our systems, while MacPro3,1 doesn't. I'm going to compare the kexts that are loaded with each profile and see if I can pinpoint which one is causing the crash. I'm not sure about Core 2 architectures, but with my Intel i3, the MacPro3,1 profile doesn't let the CPU turbo.
