leafhound Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 If you have the right compatable hardware you ought to succeed, VMware or VirtualBox will emulate a Mac on Windows, you may need pendrive depending on your route. Mac Boy Posted August 14, 2011 Share Posted August 14, 2011 Yes, you can do this in Linux. I first created a 5GB HFS+ formatted partition on a USB drive. Then I was able to extract the needed files from the InstallESD.dmg via 7z. I think it is possible as I'm almost there. I haven't tried to install yet, though. oznerol Posted August 14, 2011 Author Share Posted August 14, 2011 ok, i installed a VM version of lion, and then used cakewalk to make a bootable usb drive but now i get a kernel panic error, 'should have 8 threads, only found 9' anybody any idea ?
