fresca
ok, so i've been using the guide at http://www.profit42.com/index.php/2006/05/...ndows-computer/ i downloaded JaS's 10.4.6 iso and have burned it 4 different times, but am unable to get the installation process to start. i switched the active partition, and tried the 'boot from ide cd-rom device' option in my bios, and tried using the 'install os mode' but the screen reads 'error loading operating system.' how can get things going? Yeah, I've been having the same problem you are with my notebook. I installed OS X just fine on my desktop compuer, but my notebook won't even read it. At first, I thought the notebook might not want to read DVD+R media, however it plays movies burned to DVD+R just fine, and other data DVD's work fine. So, I'm not sure where to go from here either. DHARQAXIAN
Downloading the ISO will not help you - the repack is incorrect. The ALL IMPORTANT boot file is missing making the ISO useless. I have done the same as fresca and it will not install - even within VMWare in FreeBSD mode. Darwin won't even load as it claims there is a missing boot confgiuration file. fresca
actually when i load the iso with daemontools i see a bunch of filenames with the word 'boot' in it so i'm pretty sure one of them is the 'all important' one, any other ideas people? DHARQAXIAN
I had this message:config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found using a HD cable for the DVD drive solved the problem I'll try that, thank you and fresca pls accept my apologise for beng vauge I wus tired from all the failure. ok problem solved all i had to do was make my dvd drive the secondary master drive and voila, thanks for the help Jus thinkin bout this..., I have 2 HD ; Primary = Master, Secondary = Slave I have 2 DVD drives ; Primary = Master, Secondary = Slave. So my config is ; C:\ D:\ E:\ & F:\ When I try to install I get the same as macssam : config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found , this is the missing config I was refering too. I am using my E:\ DVD drive to install - which is my secondary master drive, because my D:\ drive is my Primary Slave. How can I use your resolution to fix my problem?
