mitch9654
I've run into a brick wall, and going around it is taking a while, so I have lost motivation. If possible, I would appreciate it if someone would be able to spend some time providing some direction as I have almost lost hope! (Surprising as it may seem - who would give up on Mac??!?) After installing Leopard iPC 10.5.6 without a hitch onto my 120GB WD IDE drive, I boot it with many combinations: -v -v -x -v -f -v -f -x Unfortunately, I still receive the "Waiting for Root Device" message. I have even tried so that the drive is the only one plugged in, but no joy. It's jumpers are on cable select, and it boots if I have a different OS installed on it. Hmm! Thanks for any help, if possible! Mitch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264712-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites

mitch9654
Hmm. Thanks for the reply! If it helps: My DVD drive is SATA. My HD is IDE - I tried two different IDE HDs, they both keep searchin' for that sneaky root device. I am using a MS-7549 motherboard with an AMD 64 processor I have 4GB of RAM I have an NVIDIA GTX 460 graphics card I have a keyboard Thanks, Mitch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264712-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-1730439 Share on other sites
