darwinfink
When I try to boot off the burned ISO (using VMWare under Linux or native), I get the message 'System restarted by user root' or something like that AFTER I had a clean bootup: I see a blue screen and the spinning cursor of death (i.e. rotating color-wheel-cursor) and I can actually move the mouse. After a while it reboots. Don't really know what it is, since I tried everything. Maybe broken ISO? Well, MD5 turns out correctly. Also, 10.4.1 works just fine. It looks like the Installer can't be loaded and thus it reboots. Any ideas? darwinfink
Not Yet. I had the same idea. There are patches included on the DVD, so I applied one another, but the problem stay's the same (only one patch did something: System restart before loading the kernel, which could indicate a broken image. But why would MD5 Hash turn out right when?). Did you verify the image with MD5? I tried everything from entering every possible combination of switches into the boot cmd line to removing PC components. Nothing worked. 'ARRRGH'!
