Success story.

I've always loved macs, ever since i started using them at school. (back in the old System 7 days, lol).

 

Well, i regret selling my 2 old macs (a 166mhz PowerPC and a 33mhz Performa) , then for 2 years, I was stuck with my PC's.

 

Now, just about a month ago, i started geting back into macs. Well, i was thinking about buying a Mac Mini, well, the prices are great, but then, I would have to buy a DVI LCD, and USB keyboard/mouse, added up too much for me .

 

So i found out about OSX86, read into it, and found this place.

 

Big help! worked out great.

 

Found a good torrent.

 

Burned it (at 4x, my lowest speed setting).

 

Installed it. (installed perfectly!)

 

Got my hardware working!

 

Audio and ethernet worked fine, (not too impressed with the over all quality of the sound though, just a bit fuzzy, but beggers can't be choosers eh?).

 

To get the sound to work, i had to move the main audio cable to the mic, and in the MIDI settings, set all of the audo quality settings to 48khz.

 

To get the ethernet to work, I installed m.muashi's (i think thats his name, lol), Yukon drivers, set the info.plist files to the right setting, and BAM! Worked like a charm.

 

 

Video, not impressed at all. Right now i'm using my old nVidia GeForce 5200 (since my Radeon x1300 Pro died, and is being shipped to ATI atm) , i even found the .kext in the extensions folder, set all the settings right, and still, animation is a laggy! (large animations that is, genie, is smooth.)

 

Well, can't complain too much, atleast OSX86 is working!

same goes for the dell latitude c840 havent fouind any issues beside from it doesnt boot by itself and the refresh rate isnt all there. But its ok decent enough to keep it on 247 for weeks
