vasuvenkat
Hi, I installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (iATKOS S3 V2 downloaded from the Pbay) as a dual boot alongside my Vista. I then updated to 10.6.7 after downloading the direct download files which gave the combo updates. I have also downloaded the OS X 10.6.8 helper, Legacy kernal-10 installer and USB 2.0 fix installer and with their aid made a software update to 10.6.8 version of Snow Leopard. Presently I have this version working absolutely fine with no problems whatsoever (Touch wood) Now that OS X 10.7 Lion is officially out, I find its .dmg files hosted on torrent sites. I would be grateful if the members of this forum could let me know if it would be safe to download the Lion .dmg file from the torrent sites and upgrade my Snow Leopard 10.6.8. will it work well as the current version does for me. Everywhere I only see articles written about installing Lion as a clean install. I am unable to find answers for my question regarding updating my 10.6.8 (hackintosh version) to 10.7 Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263192-updating-to-lion/ Share on other sites

Wouldn't a clean install remove the apps(Games) that are already there? Of course I do have the media to install the apps back, but what would happen to the software made after the apps were originally installed Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/263192-updating-to-lion/#findComment-1723318 Share on other sites
Alessandro17
Wouldn't a clean install remove the apps(Games) that are already there? Of course, a clean install means formatting, thus deleting everything. Of course you would create a back up of your User folder. Of course I do have the media to install the apps back, but what would happen to the software made after the apps were originally installed Sorry, I don't get that. Software you download should be in your User folder.
