ogeva
Hi all, I have a PC with Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 board, 4BG RAM, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, Sapphire ATI HD 4670 Video card and 3 hard drives - two formatted as NTFS drives for windows, and the third one was formatted as two GUID partitions for OSX usage. I installed OSX from retail 10.6 DVD, using Nawcom boot CD for boot (I could not get it to load with ##### or Empire EFI). After reboot, I ran Auto DSDT patcher for the board, applied the 10.6.8 combo update and used MultiBesst 3.8.0 with the user DSDT option. I had to do some tinkering for the video card to work out of the DVI port, but it works with QE/CI, reboots and everything. But there is a severe issue that prevents me from using this setup. Every once in a while, especially when I click something or open a program, the computer will stall with a spinning rainbow wheel for a minute or two. So I get a few seconds in between stalls... When this happens, the hard disk led blinks and I can hear the disk working. I tried using the system monitor utility to see if any server is taking too much CPU or memory, but that doesn't seem the case. On the disk monitor I can see IO read usage go up, but I don't think it's that bad. What could be the issue? Has anyone faced a similar problem? I could not find anything similar in the forums... Thanks, Oren Ooops. Moderators, please move to 10.6 forum, my mistake...
