Hello everyone,

I did search on the forum but could not find a solution.

I have a desktop, perfectly running 10.6.8 on Asus M4A785TD-V EVO with AMD Phenom II x4 965 Cpu and XFX 5770 GPU.

Installed 10.6.6i Hazard and updated to 10.6.8 via Apple Combo Update and finally installed legacy kernel 10.8.0, booting with -force64 and arch=i386 as suggested in kernel installation package, using chameleon RC5.

The system is running OK including "sleep", but I beleive I need a power management solution because the computer is very very noisy, all the fans are runnning at maximum speed at all times. Also I am afraid of frying the CPU or something else.

Any suggestions will be very appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi there, can you please list the kexts you're using? (anything that's not stock) or what you've removed.

Hi,

In my Extra / Extensions folder I have,

EvilAppleACPIPlatform.kext

SleepEnabler.kext

EvilIOPCIFamily.kext

And in S/L/E I have

FakeSMC and OpenHaltRestart kexts and some ATI kexts

Also, these are irrelevant I guess but I have a kext for my external firewire audio interface and tun-tap kexts to enable VPN.

Other than that I did not delete or add anything. I do not know exactly which kexts were installed during first install, and I don't know what kexts I should be looking for.

P.s: I tried some software to monitor cpu temperature but apparently they can not retrieve temperature information.

Thanks.
