I have ALC889A on my gigabyte motherboard desktop. After clean retail install I had sound working, but no microphone. I tried a lot of kexts, none of them worked. If I delete all sound related kexts, I have only sound, no mic. If I install voodoohda with kext installer - mic dont work. If I install voodoohda from package, sound works, mic works, but I ALWAYS HEAR MYSELF FROM SPEAKERS :( . Also if I install kext after voodoohda package - it crashes, and I need to reinstall voodoohda.

Why I have sound when I delete all sound related kexts? What to do with mic echo? Why only packaged voodoohda works?

Another problem on netbook. Asus 1000he. I have read from many tutorials that I should use voodoohda, to get mic working. Again it working only from package and it stops working after reboot. After install internal mic works fine. But if I connect external mic I AGAIN HEAR MYSELF FROM SPEAKERSwacko.gif!

What I have to do with the sound?

Thanks.

Hi, I have a similar problem. After installing VooDooHDA (2.7.2, I believe (#####)) on my hackintosh (look signature), there is awful echo from my microphone. Playing with VooDooHDA prefpane I managed to dispose of it by "zeroing" the Input Gain slider, but doing so "disables" my microphone. I used the dsdt from DSDT Auto-Patcher.

The dsdt that I used: http://www.mediafire.com/?wtd5imwt836pyfn

Thanks for any help, I highly appreciate it.
