Shutdown when playing games

Hello everyone,

 

Recently (I think after 10.6.7 or 10.6.8) my hackintosh has started to exhibit a weird behavior: when playing Bioshock or World of Warcraft, after about 5 minutes, the fans start to spin really fast and the computer enters something similar to sleep with the difference being the fans keep spinning and reset does not work. I can only power off and on.

 

I've checked the logs and there's nothing relevant there. My system is the following:

- DX58SO board

- i7 3.2 GHz cpu with stock cooler

- EVGA GeForce 9800GT

 

This happened in two different install scenarios (USL and [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]). Has anyone experienced this? Could this be faulty hardware, some fans who need a cleanup or maybe something changed in the updates that broke something in the install?
