Hi guys, I've been registered on the site for a while, but this is my first post, as I can't find the answer to my problem.

A couple of months ago, I used the nawcom ModCD and retail Snow Leopard DVD to install OSX on my old AMD desktop. That went fine, but that desktop died and I have since got a better laptop, so I haven't repaired it.

The problem is with my new laptop. It's an ASUS X5DAB, a variant of the K50AB series. It has a AMD Athlon x2 ql-65, 3gb ram and an ATI Mobility 4570. Using the same ModCD and retail disc, I get a kernel panic almost as soon as setup starts, with these kexts:

Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
 com.apple.driver.ApplePS2Controller(1.1.0)@0x360ed000->0x360f2fff
 com.apple.driver.AppleAPIC(1.4)@0x30cbc000->0x30cbefff
 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform(1.3)@0x30be6000->0x30c26fff
	  dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.3.0)@0x30954000
	  dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0x30b46000

I have tried many different bootflags and combinations of bootflags, and have tried loading an alternate kernel, and everytime I get the panic at the same point with the same error. I haven't managed to find any results for this problem, or any retail installation guides for this laptop. If anyone has any advice or can point me in the wrong direction, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
