mwidjaja1
I got Mac OSX working on my Dell Insprion 6000 (with the 2 Wire technique) and normally it worked. However I idoticly checked the "mirror montior/display" checkbox in the Display's Section in System Preferences. After that, everytime I boot Mac OSX I end up going to the 'paperclip' display and I can't go back to my true Montior. I wanted to know if there's a boot peremeter or work around so I can get Mac OSX to boot to my true display and not to the 'paperclip' display. Thanks! Rammjet
Try deleting these two files: /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist /Users/(your-user-name)/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.(bunch-of-characters).plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26170-mirrored-montor/#findComment-177173 Share on other sites
mwidjaja1
Wait, how can I delete them if I can't even access Mac OSX? (And Can't use Windows Explorer to view its partition). Is there some command line prompt I can do to delete those files? Thanks in advance! gubbel
you need macdrive to get access to a hfs+ filesystem under windows. http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive6/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26170-mirrored-montor/#findComment-177210 Share on other sites
mwidjaja1
Rammjet, I tried doing what you said but I then got an Error Message reading "This file or directory was not found" for each item I typed. Gubbel, I'm right now trying to download the software you have gave and I'll report back here if the software worked, and if Mac works. Thankyou! mwidjaja1
Ok, so I tried using Macdrive. Macdrive itself worked (cool program... I like it) however deleting those 2 files Rammjet suggested did not fix my problem. Is there anything else I can do? (As a side note if I use an external monitor it works on the right screen) Should I just reinstall Mac or is there another workaround for this? Thanks once again.
