vmanisme
Please help me, I just finally got 10.6.6i (Hazard) to install but now I get this kernel panic when I try to boot up the system. I dont know what causes it, I'm thinking the CPU is but Ill let you guys decide if you can. I did install the legacy kernel provided on the ISO. My CPU is Phenom II N950. Laptop model DV7-4173US if needed, if I have to replace the kernel can someone lead me to the right one and actually tell me how to do it, thank you, help is appreciated. This is on VM Virtualbox btw, trying to get Virtual to boot before I do a dual boot. HP dv7-4173us
Sorry to be a "Me Too!" type of post rather than assistance, but I also have the same laptop and have had nothing but grief getting it to work. You made it farther than I did, I always {censored} out when the Snow Leopard boot disk starts running. Did you ever get this to work? If so, please post what you did! I keep checking these forums about every few months to see if someone figured it out. In any event, if you can provide a link to the instructions you used to get you at least as far as you did, I can replicate what you did and try to help figure it out. Thanks! wutnao
Have you tried using the arch=i386 boot flag? I'm also running an AMD processor, and I would get a similar kernel panic unless I used that flag.
