Has anyone had any luck with an EVGA GTX 285 Mac Edtion card on a hackintosh? Will my bios recognize it even though it's a mac card?

I already bought a used pc version on ebay, but it was bad, so I just went ahead and ordered a mac version from EVGA for only $30 more.

It will be paired with a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R.

Yes

Otherwise, getting a mac card will spare you some issues, like getting all outputs working, support for adapters, but injection will still be needed.

A nice advantage is that you just have to find what needs to be injected by looking at an IOReg from a mac with this card installed.

So I just tried to boot using ##### and my snow leopard disk using the tonymacx86 tutorial. I push enter and the white apple loading screen comes up. When that screen goes away, however, my monitor goes black and the power button blinks, as if the card isn't sending out a signal anymore.

I guess I'm just confused on what exactly injection is. I've done quite a bit of searching and can't find anything. Is it something that needs to be done before I put it in my computer?

So I finally got it working. I just needed to type, "PCIRootUID=1 -x" at the ##### screen both when I installed the OS, and when I booted to the welcome screen. The card worked great without doing anything! The audio and ethernet ports weren't working, but once I finished with ##### it all started working.
