tehphoenixsplx
It depends on hardware used and method(s) of installation. Read post the above information. Its a Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard ATi 5770 HD 1 Gig XFX Q6600 CPU It worked fine with 10.6.6 Can I just install 10.6.7 combo and then what else do I need to do. After upgrading to 10.6.6 I had to install ##### to roll back some usb thing. 3.14r2
For the most part if you use a retail install method, an update should work. As usual there are some points to consider: If you have any modified original kexts in /S/L/E, you will have to back-up/restore them In some cases certain hardware may stop work (such as audio) In some cases a system might become less stable Bottom line, make a backup copy of your HDD and try updating. BTW 10.6.8 has been released... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260506-1064-1067-update-help/#findComment-1702450 Share on other sites
tehphoenixsplx
I had iAtokas? 10.6.3 version installed originally. I then upgraded 10.6.4 but had to install a legacy kernel straight after before rebooting. Then somehow I managed to upgrade to 10.6.6 but I cant remember if I did anything specifically but it worked. After that I got Lion DP4 and got that installed using the guide here no problem at all. Now I cant seem to get snow leopard back to 10.6.6/7/8.. I just get halts during boot.. only hardware changed was from an unworking X1800XT graphics card to a lion out of the box ready 5770 1Gig Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260506-1064-1067-update-help/#findComment-1702597 Share on other sites
