Kolyan123
Hello, I have finally got my rig to boot into 10.6.7, however i still have two issue. I can not set my resolution to the native one of 1680x1050 and my ethernet works every other boot up. The system is; Core-i3 Biostar H55-HD Nvidia 8400GS Using ##### with some kexts such as graphics enabler. Also i have atempted to write in my resolution into the boot.plist file with no results. Any suggestions? LatinMcG
i had issues with 8400 gs.. if device id is 10c3 .. bad news.. its a pain. wouldnt let system sleep. switched to 9500 gt and all works. details of lan chip ? sometimes it needs kernel flag max_valid_dma_addr=1024 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260075-install-complete-but-still-have-errors-need-help/#findComment-1701930 Share on other sites
Kolyan123
So, it seems like i do have a 10c3 device id for the Nvidia card, and i'm not too bothered by lack of sleep more interested in a good resolution. The lan chipset is a Realtek RTL8111, where do i stick the kernel flag (sorry i know a bit of linux but macos is new to me) Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260075-install-complete-but-still-have-errors-need-help/#findComment-1701945 Share on other sites
LatinMcG
lets say the power management on it isnt enabled and card was bunring my hands when i was taking it out. u can try adding the id to the info.plist on nv50hal but it didtn work was stuck at 1280x### resolution. even with GraphicsEnabler Yes save yourself the problems with video. change it. goto lnx2mac.blogspot.com for the lan driver that works great on hackintosh. no need for the kernel flag. Kolyan123
Is the nvidia 8400 issue persistent in all versions of the OS or may it change eventually, I just bought this card and don't feel like sending it back? Thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260075-install-complete-but-still-have-errors-need-help/#findComment-1701986 Share on other sites

LatinMcG
device chipset changed. not same as compatible ones. old 8400 gs had a 3 digit id. now 10c3 is newer.
