hi,

i´ve got a lenovo y560 (i3, ati 5470) and installed snow leopard 10.6.3 to my external hd.

I wanted to update to 10.6.7 with the combo update, but 1 min. befor it should end (90%, "moving files" or sth. like this) i got kernel panic.

I get dispalyed:

....

invalid kernel ip, won´t attempt to handle trap

Debugger called: <double panic>

....

What´s wrong??

//Edit:

mac osx says only 2,26 ghz unknown

Hello,

I have just opened the same thread ; I've got the same error twice on my laptop (samsung R530).

But I have no answer for the moment... I will keep you informed if any solution

Atazanga

I have read that this can come from the audio kext ; I have an Realtek audio card + audio capabilities on the Nvidia 310 card and maybe this is the root cause ; I am doing a fresh install this morning and I will keep you posted

I have found nothing about that problem.....I have got a Realtek ALC 272.....worked for me , so I thought that can´t be the problem, but i could be wrong

Was your Audio working?!

Hello,

I never get finished the combo update 10.6.7 without a KP ; finally, I have used a time machine restore from my desktop to install it and I have re-installed the kext that I need.

I have always an issue with the sound ; apparently the stereo speakers and mic are managed by Realtek ALC269 and the HDMI sound is managed by the Nvidia graphic card.

Keep working
