stingbandel
Hi, I just install mac os 1047 last night on my presario 1500 laptop. Everything went smoothly except for the screen resolution and the wifi card. My first problem is the screen resolution that I am getting is only 1024x768 while my native resolution for it is 1400x1050. Is it possible to change the resolution to 1400x1050? I have looked at the graphic properties but only see the 1024x768. Nothing else is there. My second question is about the wifi card. I have the one from compaq, the wireless lan w200 one. It's the one that's attached on back of the lcd. I try to at least turn it on my pressing the fn button with F2 but it doesn't do anything. What else should I do to make it to work? thank you so much... According to a Google of "Compaq Presario 1500", you have an ATI Radeon Mobility video chipset. You need to investigate the Callisto video drivers at: http://omni.starchaser.org/callisto My second question is about the wifi card. I have the one from compaq, the wireless lan w200 one. According to a Google of "Compaq W200 chipset", your wireless device has an Agere chipset. There is no driver solution for this chipset. You will need to look into buying a USB wireless device. Look at the Compatibility lists in the Wiki ( http://wiki.osx86project.org/ ) for a suitable device. stingbandel
hi,thanks for the quick reply. I wonder about this one, quote from the link you gave me. "Lastly edit the Info.plist file in CallistoHAL.kext/ to match your ATI card's PCI device ID and reboot. " ok my question is how to find the pci device id? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25831-how-to-change-the-screen-resolution-from-1024x768-into-1400x1050-and-the-wifi-card/#findComment-175036 Share on other sites
Rammjet
In OSX, go to the blue Apple menu and select "About this Mac..." Click on the "More Info" button. Click on "Graphics/Displays" on the left and on the right look for "Device ID" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25831-how-to-change-the-screen-resolution-from-1024x768-into-1400x1050-and-the-wifi-card/#findComment-175041 Share on other sites
stingbandel
Hi, after reading the instruction, I am not sure if I can use this driver. Because it says "It is absolutely important that you do not miss any characters in your EDID string, and that it is exactly 128 bytes long. Also have in mind that the above procedure is ONLY for non-Mobility owners, Mobility owners should not do this, your settings come from the BIOS. " The procedure is not for Mobility owners. So should I still use this driver? Thanks, is there any other way to solve it? Right now I have the JaS version of mac 1047. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25831-how-to-change-the-screen-resolution-from-1024x768-into-1400x1050-and-the-wifi-card/#findComment-175046 Share on other sites
