Enuma
Hello all, I'm new to this community although I have been browsing these forums for quite some time. Before I do something stupid. I would like to first document myself if it is possible to install OS X on my machine. PC SPECS: (Alspire 3410) Motherboard : Mobile Intel GS45 Express Chipset CPU : Intel Celeron 723 (1.2Ghz, 1MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB) Memory : 3 GB Video Adapter : GMA 4500mHD Storage: Hitachi 250GB Heres the link for laptop model:Aspire 3410T Before you ask a question, read the following: 1. No, I do not have a backup/spare HDD 2. No, I have not tried to install OS X lately 3. Yes, I did read the tutorials posted online but I couldn't find 2 tutorials that used the same technique/build 4. Yes, I did use the search function and tried to find anything related to Aspire 3410, but im not so much into laptops.. I appreciate everyone's help, even reading through here must have taken a bit of time. I would like to know will my WiFi, sound and graphic work ok, since my job depends on it, im ready to give up on camera, built in mic or headphone and mic jack in. Thx in advance for reply's. Edit: could you direct me to a guide that is simple to follow, yet working one for my laptop, since im lost in sea of different patches, Kens and mods.. rlf
Bump.. Can someone at least direct me to a ling of a guide that might work? I would really like to try OSx install. You are not going to have a great experience with your GMA 4500 graphics. There are no Mac drivers, so you will be limited in resolution and no acceleration. I can't answer about wireless because you don't mention the manufacturer and model number. The best way to learn about the hardware in your machine is go to Windows and run Everest Ultimate. I find no guide that has been made for your hardware but there is a guide for an Acer 4810TZ that has similar hardware. The guide is here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=70792 The author of the guide says: Yes, it is stable enough for daily use, as long as you don't need accelerated video. The fan is constantly on and the CPU runs about 115 F on average. Not sure if there is some other tweak to fix that. No updates yet. I am watching the GMA 4500 thread to see if there is any hope of getting CI/QE, but it is looking less and less likely. I actually reinstalled Win 7 and will eventually figure out how to dual boot. Enuma
Ahh.. Thx lad.. i run on similar stuff too few hours ago.. Im guess im stuck on Win 7 for a while, i really want to avoid for my graph to work constantly on ~50C for a really long time, and im using my notebook for 6-8 hours daily.. I was thinking that OSx require lower Requirements than Win7, but i guess that im mistaken. Or is it just Software issue? Well, thx in any case.
