nikkokick
Hello! I just joined this forum to get help and read about Hackintosh, as this is my first try ever. I must say the quiz was pretty fun tho hehe. Lets start with my problem. I got myself iDeneb v 1.6 Now after I got the ISO and burnt it and trying to install it myself, I get an error directly. I hope someone can help me cus I'd love to try out OSX on my PC. After "Darwin/x86 boot....... and all that" I select iDeneb v1.5.1 10.5.7 and start that normally by pressing enter. I then hear my CDreader spin and I then get the Apple Background (the grey one with the grey apple logo). But here the problem comes. Immediately after the background turns up I get a long error message. It's kernel panic. What can be causing this? I'm sure you'd like the exact information provided by the error, but maybe you can tell me right away what's the problem this early? It's immediately when the installation starts this comes (note I have never installed it before or something). After all of the random letters and numbers it says: BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Mac OS version: Not set yet Anyways, here's my hardware. AMD Phenom II x6 1055t Gigabyte GA-870A UD3 Gainward Geforce GTX 460. I doubt its the hardware messing with me, can it really do that this early in the installation progress? I havent even started the installation. Hope you guys can help! If you need specific error messages I can take my camera and take a photo or two. Tahnks a lot in advance! Cheers! PS! This doesn't happen on my laptop. Is it a hardware issue or something BIOS related? thanks again! There you will type the name of the kernel you need. Now, there are 3 optional kernels supplied and I don't remember which one you need, so you will have to try each one in turn: anv 970 mach_toh Type one of those names and then press <enter>. If that hangs, try again with the next name, etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256317-trying-to-install-ideneb-error-directly/#findComment-1679038 Share on other sites

However, when I used the "mach_toh" the errors didn't come, instead I got a screen saying I need to restart my computer. I can also note that if I turn off AHCI in BIOS I will bypass a minute of the spinning circle and then after a minute get an error saying "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: socketfilterfw Mac OS version: 9A581" BUT If I to the "mach_toh" command with AHCI disabled and instead using IDE, I won't get the error nor the picture telling me to reboot. Instead I will stuck on the loading circle and its just spinning forever. I know it's not loading because my DVDreader is silent. When it works it sounds like a hurricane so thats why I know its stuck Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Appreciate all help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256317-trying-to-install-ideneb-error-directly/#findComment-1679053 Share on other sites

nikkokick
Try again, but add some more boot flags along with the kernel name: -v -x cpus=1 mach_toh If that hangs, try the other kernels as part of that command. Okay thanks, will do! But should I try with or without AHCI? Seems like it differs. None of the kernels worked with the "cpus=1" bootflag. Everyone gave the same error: kernel_task ANy more suggestions? However if I run IDE instead of AHCI I will come further it seems. I do not get stopped right away but it continues to load files and read and so on. Strange? It loads like a minute or so with "mach_toh" kernel, and then last I get "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: socketfilterfw". What is this socketfilterfw? Also it seems I get a lot further when in IDE instead of AHCI. If I try the anv kendel without AHCI I get after a couple of minutes: "BSD process name corresponding to current thread: blued". On mach_toh I got socketfilterfw and on anv I got blued. What do these mean? THanks!
