Hi

I'm trying to modify my Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Retail DVD so that I can make a dualboot with Windows 7 on a MBR drive, but I have a problem.

I have followed this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116505

When I reach the point where I have to create a new OSInstall.mpkg with the terminal command xar -c -f OSInstall.mpkg(Part B step 14)

I'm making the modifications from my XxX 10.5.6 distro in Oracle VirtualBox, because I have no physical PC able to run OS X Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard. Xar(version 1.4) is installed by default in this distro, so the problem is not missing software, but I get an error:

No files to operate on

I have attached an image with the terminal window.

It looks like OSInstall.mpkg is on your Desktop. in Terminal type:

cd ~/Desktop

Then proceed with the xar command.

Yes, there is a OSInstall.mpkg on my desktop, because that is the original one, which I have extracted, just like it says in the guide I linked to in my first post.

Well anyway, I tried to execute the terminal command "cd ~/desktop" and then "xar -c -f OSInstall.mpkg", but still the same error message. I have also tried "xar -c -f OSInstall.pkg" and "xar -c -f archive.mpkg"

Is it possible to use the OSInstall.mpkg from the Hazard 10.6.2 DVD for my 10.6.3 retail, without the need of a Legacy Kernel upon system update?
