Hey Everyone,

After reading myself to sleep with these forums over the past few weeks and reading about the successes of a few folks who were able to get OS X up and running on Sandy Bridge architecture, I decidedly pulled the trigger and bought some hardware to begin my own OSx86 project.

But the wealth of information here was only able to get me so far. I used the new 3.0 version of ##### last night, and got OS X to install (using the PCIRootUID=1 flag). After it installed, I ran the 10.6.7 update, then ##### and BridgeHelper, installed chameleon 2.0 RC5 Sandy Bridge, as well as the kexts for my hardware and the NV enabler for nVidia cards. I ran tonymacx86's nVidia driver installer and was able to get my graphics card recognized, and supporting the native 2048x1152 resolutions on my monitors.

At that point, I rebooted without the ##### disk just fine. However, when the desktop reappeared, I had no ethernet, and my display was promptly back to 1024x768. I re-ran ##### for the intel 825 series NIC and reinstalled the NVenabler, and ran the nVidia driver installer again.

After rebooting this time, all I got was a blinking cursor after POST. I put the ##### CD back in, rebooted, and it Kernel Panicked. Ran it with the PCIRootUID=1 flag, and it came up. So I tried adding the PCIRootUID=1 flag to the com.apple.Boot.plist file in the Extras folder, rebooted, same cursor (still no network either at this point).

So after I got back in using #####, I tried Andy's Boot CD (which, ironically, I couldn't boot from), and installed the package, which happens to be for the same P8P67 pro board I have. After installing, it only seemed to make matters worse. Audio was still fine, no network connectivity, and graphics reverted to 1024x768 again, and animations and cursor movement were horrendously slow. At this point though, I could reboot with out a boot CD, so this was a minor victory.

After fumbling with it for a bit, I re-ran all of #####, rebuilt permissions and caches, and added the same bootloader, kexts, and enabler, same nvidia driver installer. And afterwards, still no network connectivity, and a kernel panic when rebooting without #####. Tried a few more of the boot loader options, still same issue.

Generally, when I'm saying there is no network connectivity, usually its only briefly working, before it goes to a "cable unplugged" status. At this point, I'm kind of stuck in the water, and I'm looking for ideas. I hope this post was thorough enough, but if any of you need more info, I'd be happy to provide.

Thanks a ton for all of your help. Your experiences have gotten me this far, my own experiences will get me to the promised land.

Cheers!

After all of this, I got back to the point where just Ethernet isn't working. Even after Andy's P8P67 Pro package, and #####, hnak's Intel 1000E Apple driver isn't cutting it.

Anybody have any other ideas at all?
