Hi all :)

I am new to mac and I am very much eager to install Snow Leopard on my Dell Studio 1555.I want to know if my system is supported or not :unsure: ..

 

Specifications:

Processor: Intel T6600 2.2GHz

Motherboard : Dell Inc 0C234M [bIOS: A12]

RAM: 4GB

HDD : WDT WD5000BEVT 500GB 5400rpm

DVD Drive: Hitachi-LG Data Storage DVD+-RW GA31N ATA

SOUND : IDT High Definition Audio (DEV_7675)

GRAPHICS: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 512MB (DEV_9553)

BLUETOOTH: Dell 370 wireless mini card

LAN: Broadcom NetLink™ Gigabit Ethernet (DEV_1698)

WIFI: Intel® WiFi Link 5100 AGN (VEN_8086&DEV_4232)

 

 

Is my system supported and what are to be done ??

P.S. I forgot to write I have 4 partition in windows .. very imp data is there in two partitions.. can't afford to loose the data .. How can I install Mac safely into the 4th partition? :D

Thanks for making such a wonderful link.. Do you know that there are different Dell Studio 15 models having different model specifications ?There are no such help for Studio 15 and also as i am a newbie, could not make out how make a custom method for my studio 15 from the posts that have notebooks with different specifications.. There is no the Studio 15.. I did not find any post which gives a definite answer to my question :P

 

I am too much exited about installing mac.I thought that I would get a nice help on this matter ... :)

P.S I forgot to write I have 4 partition in windows.. very imp data is there in two partitions.. can't afford to loose the data .. How can I install Mac safely into the 4th partition? :)

If you can't find anything with the exact specs search for something with similar specs. You can search for posts by individual items too. The MB chipset, wired * wireless LAN etc. eg for video http://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pw...2eadc158ceaa95e

As for your very important data. there is no way to know if something will go wrong, so back up.. And you could install to an external drive first so that your internal is untouched.

Yours is very similar to my Dell Inspiron 1545, and I also do the multiple MBR partitions. I updated my install guide here.

But you do need a USB disk to follow it.
