lukeguy
hi, I'm brand new here and am looking to install snow leopard on my pc. I'm familiar with both pc's and macs, but i've never done a hackintosh until now and decided to try it out. My system specs are as follows: AMD Phenom II x6, Asus Crosshair Formula IV, Nvidia GTX 470. I've been following the AMD guide on this forum but have run into some problems very early on. I have the boot cd burned to a disc, as well as OSX 10.6.3, I'm able to boot into chameleon screen okay, but when I exchange the disc for the OSX install dvd and click f5, it comes up with a repeated error message saying: EBIOS read error 0x0 sector 0. it repeats itself for about 30 seconds before directing me back to the main screen where i don't see the option to click on the install disc. Any help would be appreciated, I'd like to do my best to get this working, but i'm quite frustrated since i can't even get to the installer! Thanks! pgb64
Hey, I have 2 questions for you. 1 What boot loader are you using? I use Empire EFI. 2 Make sure that your OS X 10.6.6 dvd is "retail" and has not been modified.
