Hi im having problems getting sound on my acer aspire one D255 netbook

I have the operating system installed fine i have no errors or crashes i just cant get sound!

i have tried to use the voodoo HDA installs bt they where unsuccessful the hda preference panel is there but it returns an error so if anyone knows how to get even a little bit of sound on i would be extremely greatful!!

Also i have grapical issues they are not majorly important to me as i still can view the screen it just has an 800x600 resolution instead of the usual 1024x600 any help to change this would also be much appreciated

Other than that i have working wireless using a belkin 54g wireless usb dongle if there is a way to get my built in wireless card up and running it would be useful but to those who are struggling with wireless with the usb dongle it is connected using wpa-tkip security on my network without any problems most of the places i searched said it was only possible to connect using Wep

Lastly here are my system specs

Acer Aspire One D255 Netbook

Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz 512kb cache

2GB kingston RAM

Intergrated Graphics (i am unsure on these but i think they are on the motherboards chipset)

Intergrated Sound

Hitachi 250gb HDD

If anyone has any information that would help me please get back to me soon!

THANKS! =]

Hi I just bought the same laptop and was considering Macizing it. Could you share with us the version and customization options you choose when you did your install? Thanks ahead of time.

Also I was doing some research on the web for this laptop and it appears the graphics card is not supported yet and therefore 800x600 is the best we can get for now.

hey yeah i installed os version 10.5 and updated to 10.5.8

i didn't do any customizations when i installed i just created a partition and let it run although it did make my version of win 7 inaccessible entirely and i have had to wipe it from the system as it was causing problems but i think there is a way round that i'm just not too bothered about using windows other than that i have no sound on it as of yet still having problems with that im going to test os 10.6 very soon so il let you know how that goes too and if i have sound and thanks for the info on the video card =]
