ebaymarcaro
Hello all, I am new to this. I installed WinXP, OSX, Linux-Ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron e1705 Duo Core My Partition Setup is: Dell Utility(Fat16) - WinXP (NTFS) - OSX (AF) - Linux-Ubuntu(Ex3)-Linux Sawp -Empty Fat32 I installed everything thing fine, at least it went smoothly. I formatted and installed Win XP, then partitioned the drive. Installed Apple OSX (recieved a partition error with the AF partition, but reformated in disk utility and verified). Installed Ubuntu and Grub on Ubuntu partition. I tried running grub and selecting OSX (added in root (hd0,3) :correct path) I receiv a message saying unrecognizable partition format. I loaded acronis and was able to load OSX, however on the boot up screen the blue bar fills maybe 5% then freezes. I used Jas 10.6.4 with the patch. Hoever I did not notice any custom install option and just installed straight. Could my problem be that I have to select custom install and SSE3? Is there anything else I should try before going through a reformat and reinstall of OSX??? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/24959-freezing-on-osx-booting/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
The Customize button is to the left of the Install button. You need to install packages for Intel only, not Intel and AMD. ebaymarcaro
Thanks. I figured as much, but I didn't know if there would be an alternate soulutin, less time consuming.
