Hello,

I'm running Workstation 7.1.3 and finally got OS X to install on it. I used a 10.6.3 install dvd I purchased specifically for this and after making a few tweaks to the vmx things are running smoothly after an update to 10.6.6. I'm running Latitude E6410 with 8gb RAM and a core I5 m580 with Win 7 64. Also running a Nvidia NVS 3100m.

I booted from a darwin snow iso.

There is almost too much information out there on all the different ways to configure + dos/don't, so I apologize in advance if this is redundant. I've spent hours reading about what to do next and am stuck.

1. I have no sound and want the ability to change my screen resolution. What is the best way to do this?

2. What else should I do to take full advantage of my machine's capability? What are some of the most common and useful things I should change/reconfigure?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Hello MikeyMikerson,

I have also installed Mac OS X 10.6.6 on my E6410, with Vmware 7.13.

I've just patch Vmware to have Mac OS compatibility in the virtual machine option, an dthen install Mac OS 10.6.6 directly without any other boot cd.

And, as you the sound is not working, and I can't use video settings (resolution, Cuda settings...).

I tried to patch the APPLE HDA.kext with one file made also for the Dell E6410 (file found on this forum), but I still have no sound!!!

Remark: the new applehda.kext I've tried was made for a real installation (no vmware), maybe there is a difference between both type of installation???

Do you find any solution since your last post?

Does any one have a solution?

Bye
