tgrantjr5757
Ok, first i would like to thank everyone for some information they have already given me thru searching the forum. Unfortunately i cannot get anything to work at all. Here is what i have. Its a stock compaq DV6809WM entertainment pc i got off a friend a while back. Here is where im running into a problem. Any distro of this say kalyway or ideneb will load the installer. I go to the disk tool and there is no hard drive!!!! I went ahead and made a fresh install of win7 and used the disk management tool to create an active partition of 20gb fat32 just for kicks. I get thru the opening of installing osx86 and i still cannot see any hard drives. I am so confused on this im about to give up. If someone out there in cyberspace has any ideas on the topic or a opinion please let me know. I would not mind buying a copy of osx, i just dont want their hardware. Thanks for all the info in advance. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248485-newbie-attempting-installation/ Share on other sites
