codeThatThinks
Hi, My hackintosh (10.6.0 64-Bit Vanilla) would kernel panic due to the IOATAFamily kext. I found this post: Fix for IOATAFamily / AppleIntelPIIXATA panic in Snow Leopard and downloaded the patched kext. From there, I was able to successfully boot into Snow Leopard for the first time. I went through the whole user setup thing and was able to see the desktop. Ever since I restarted, I get the same kernel panic I used to get before I started using the patched kext. I've tried using the old un-patched kext, with no avail. Tried re-downloading the patched kext, same result. Any solutions? codeThatThinks
Oh, stupid me. Just goes to show how important it is to keep track of your kexts. No kernel panic after I deleted the old IOATAFamily.kext from System/Library/Extensions.
